Jaikrishna, MDS, PGDMLE (NLSIU), FDS RCPS (Glasg), is a distinguished dental surgeon and stomatologist, recognized for his significant contributions to dental education and health administration in India. He currently serves as a Syndicate Member at the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Bangalore, and is the Managing Director of the Dental Diagnostic Centre-DDC Smiles[1][2]

Early Life and Education
Dr. H.J. Jaikrishna was born on January 23, 1973, in Bengaluru, India. He pursued his Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) at Bangalore University, graduating in September 1995. He then obtained his Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) in Oral Medicine and Radiology from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences in September 2000, where he secured the university's third rank.
In June 2022, Dr. Jaikrishna completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Medical Law and Ethics (PGDMLE) from the National Law School of India University, Bengaluru. He also earned a Diploma of Fellowship in Dental Surgery (FDS RCPS) from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow in 2023.

Dr. Jaikrishna established the Dental Diagnostic Centre in 2001, a multispecialty dental hospital with digital OPG facilities, orthodontic, CBCT centre and implant centre in Koramangala, Bangalore. In 2016, he expanded the centre to HSR Layout, Bangalore, providing advanced dental care services.
Contributions and Initiatives
As a member of the Senate and Syndicate at RGUHS, Dr. Jaikrishna has moved and adopted several key resolutions and proposals aimed at improving the quality of education and services provided by the university. His initiatives include:
- Time-bound guaranteed services for students to obtain necessary documents from the university.
- Mandatory Kannada learning for effective patient communication.
- Inclusion of senate and syndicate members in the governing councils of affiliated institutions for transparency.
- Proposals for health insurance and fee assurance for meritorious students.
- Development of paradental certificate courses and interdisciplinary PhD programs.
- Establishment of a centre for intellectual property rights, student scholarships, and financial assistance programs.
- Setting up of audio-visual studios, virtual learning centers, and placement/career centers.
- Introduction of evaluation reforms in medical education and changes to the MDS syllabus.
